 As Monetization Director at Ahold Delhaize, you lead our monetization strategy across our local brands on a global level.

 

The job.
As our Global Monetization Director, you will define, shape and lead the monetization strategy of Ahold Delhaize globally and you will successfully bring all our brands to a next-gen monetization framework. In more detail: you are responsible for initiating the optimization of all our brand monetization assets and propositions for the rapidly evolving customer expectations and challenging competitor offerings across our brands worldwide. You make sure we reach our global monetization targets across Europe and the US, and you enable and empower our local brands with strategies, tactics and tools to achieve their annual targets across the individual monetization categories.

 

As Monetization Director,you will make an impact at Ahold Delhaize by:

  • defining and implementing strategies to drive performance on monetization initiatives across our global brands in accordance with agreed upon KPIs.
  • driving strategic synergies through scalable monetization solutions and frameworks across our brands and by measuring and monitoring monetization success in a standardized manner.
  • developing trusted, long-term relationships with key stakeholders across the Brand Monetization teams, becoming their trusted advisor by asking the right questions, sharing insights, connecting them with required resources and being a visible and influential presence.
  • translating marketing trends, new technology solutions and competitive strategies into innovative strategic ideas to enhance your, and your team’s, outside-in perspectives, and to keep spotting opportunities to learn, do things better and to grow.
  • engaging and managing the staff by using established management practices and supervising the staff by providing direction, input and feedback.

You will find your new workplace at our bustling head office, next to Zaandam train station. More specifically, on the 8th floor of the Global Support Office (GSO) in the Digital Engagement department. This department is responsible for digital marketing, personalization, loyalty and monetization at Ahold Delhaize and across all our brands. However, due to COVID-19, we currently still work from home as much as possible.

Everything you do with your colleagues is directly visible in our stores and for people at home. Curious who you will be working with? You are the Director of our Monetization team and you report to the Senior Vice President of Digital Engagement. Your team is responsible for growing the monetization income for Ahold Delhaize. You do so by fueling and supporting our local brands to drive monetization income, increasing advertisement engagement and enlarging efficiency that is needed to grow a thriving omni-channel business at each of our local brands. To get the job done you will work hand-in-hand with the local Brand Monetization teams, several internal departments such as Global and European expertise teams in IT, Legal, Data & Analytics, Security and Finance and external parties such as media agencies, publishers, solution partners and AdTech vendors.

Requirements

At Ahold Delhaize, you’ll be working for one of the biggest retailers in the world. You are bursting with ambition to keep up with us. And specifically for this vacancy as a Monetization Director, you are a thought leader on monetization with an entrepreneurial mindset and advanced analytical skills. You supplement these skills with:

  • a relevant master's degree or PhD.
  • at least 13 years of experience working in a (global) retail environment or other relevant industry, defining and leading monetization strategies across various brands. Native experience within Europe is considered a plus.
  • an inspirational entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to flourish in a global multi-brand environment.
  • experience working with media and marketing solutions and a passion for innovation.
  • excellent networking, time management, persuasion and interpersonal skills.
  • proven experience in strategic leadership and mobilizing various cross-functional stakeholders in monetization.
  • the ability to grow and mature monetization offerings across different brands in a highly matrixed organization.
