About the job
Ahold Delhaize has recognized the opportunity of Retail Media, dubbed The 3rd Wave (after Search and Social Media) and started retail media in Europe 10 years ago at Albert Heijn. Since then we’ve seen uninterrupted double digit growth surfing that wave in the Benelux driven by Albert Heijn Media Services (AHMS) and Bol.com Retail Media (BRM). Both are broadly considered to be leaders in retail media, holding an innovative first mover track record & vast privacy proof 1st party data.
In your role as a B2B Marketeer Retail Media you will have the unique opportunity to help set up the marketing activities for both the Ahold Delhaize retail media team and AHMS. You will take the first steps in branding, to (further) build retail media awareness, consideration and conversion of current/new advertisers on our way to becoming a mature media player. As a B2B marketeer you have a position within the Dutch Ahold Delhaize retail media team that offers advertisers and media agencies both effective and relevant media propositions. Based on our unique 1st party data and shopper context we create powerful communication and activation solutions for our advertisers putting their brands and products in the spotlight. Collaboration and alignment with the Sales team is an ongoing part of the role. The same applies to the B2B marketing team of BRM and the communications team of Ahold Delhaize EU&I.
Surf’s up! Together with a small team you will focus on:
- Conducting marketing analyses and follow market trends in the retail media landscape;
- Clearly positioning the retail media operations of both Ahold Delhaize and Albert Heijn;
- Making marketing plans based on distinctive customer segments;
- Preparing show cases to demonstrate the added value of retail media to advertisers;
- Target customers with campaigns (both ad-hoc and ‘always on’). Develop campaigns on the basis of triggered marketing activities towards (potential) advertisers and agencies.
- Measure, monitor and control marketing results and budgets and develop new ideas to ensure maximum ROI;
- Create, develop and implement marketing visuals, projects, propositions, strategies and creative content for different marketing channels and ensure maintenance of existing content.
- Stakeholder management internally and externally
You will set up marketing plans, be responsible for the translation thereof into a communication plan and the implementation of, among other things, a corporate identity, website, newsletter, webinars / events, SEO/SEA, modular (sales) slide decks, etc. This means that the responsibility is strategic, tactical and operational at the same time.

What do you bring?
- Combines a Bachelor or Master degree in Marketing or Communication with 8 years of relevant work experience, e.g., in a B2B marketing position within the media industry;
- Has experience with Marketing: at operational (content), tactical (planning), and certainly strategic (positioning) level;
- Command of both the Dutch and English language at a high/accurate level.
