Learning, collaborating and asking questions

In the coming years we have an ambitious strategy and that is why we are looking for an DevOps Tester to strengthen the team. As an DevOps Tester/Test automation expert, your daily activities mainly consist of testing and automating tests. You are curious and ask relevant questions such as "How does the software behave?", "Are there hidden problems in the solutions we build?" and "What risks do we see when we bring this to production?" You take a critical look at the quality of our software and the value we add as a team. You collect information from the team and you share your findings based on facts.

As an DevOps Test Automation expert you have the overview, you understand the software landscape. You don't get to know this landscape by only testing in the browser. You test in isolation and directly with the services, databases and components and automate them where possible to get to a higher level of quality and coverage.

eCommerce Backoffice cluster services all processes in the logistics landscape from replenishment and fulfillment to delivery. There processes are critical in the delivery of groceries and the right quality and stability of the platform are key. As a Devops Tester you safeguard this quality and stability by doing and automating tests.

Your position

We are looking for an DevOps Test automation expert, who will strengthen one of our Outsystems development scrum teams. A DevOps Tester at AH IT brings knowledge and asks the critical questions. With test automation, you make sure to set up tests to continuously check quality. You are familiar with the test pyramid and know how the tests work that are in the different layers. The whole team makes and maintains these tests, but as a test automation expert you set certain guideline and help the developers by automating tests. In this process, the whole team needs to know what is going to be automated where. This way we organize our work in a smart way to deliver functionality without additional (manual) work on testing. Development tasks: You will mainly work on automation of test activities in the team, work on test-improvements, documentation and optimize test processes. Operations tasks: In the DevOps Scrum teams we work in T-shape model where each team member has its own expertise but also picks up other tasks like support and standby duties. It might be needed to visit HSCs throughout the country from time to time.

What do you bring?

Bachelor degree computer science, ICT or equivalent level based on experience

• 3+ years of experience in testing, QA and Testautomation or software engineering (must)
• Clear communication skills in English and preferably also Dutch (must)
• Experience in working in a DevOps team (must)
• Living in the Netherlands or willing to relocate (must)
• Experience of test automation and tools (e.g. Setting up a framework, Gherkin, Selenium) (must)
• Experience with testing in Low code frameworks (preferably Outsystems) (Strongly preferred)
• Experience in Context Driven Testing, Test Driven Development and Behaviour Driven Development (Strongly preferred)
• Experience with (Api testing), Robot Framework
• Knowledge of code repo/review tools (GIT, Github , Jira, Confluence)
• Knowledge of SQL, databases and associated tools
• Knowledge of Docker, Github Actions and automating in a pipeline
• Java, Kotlin and/or knowledge is an advantage
• Affinity with or interest in logistics processes

Start 1st April / 1st May
