As Analytics Manager your main objective is to identify value opportunities for Ahold Delhaize Europe through data-driven decision making.

Currently there is a need to consolidate and report on data within NFR. As Analytics Manager you accomplish this by extracting actionable insights from internal procurement analytics reports and liaising with a wide network of European procurement stakeholders to discuss value-creation possibilities.

Your aim is to create data transparency within the NFR department, to enable fact-based decision making, and to deploy mature analytics capabilities to drive business impact and identify areas of improvement.

Are you interested in working in an international procurement field, where you are accountable for implementing efficient reporting solutions? Then this could be a role fit for you.

Your job within NFR, as part of Ahold Delhaize

In this role you will perform all activities on European level, collaborating closely with NFR’s Business Control, Operational Procurement Managers, Strategic Sourcing Managers and Category Directors. Furthermore, you will work across NFR’s eight indirect procurement categories.

Your new workplace - The NFR D&I and OP Team

Not for Resale sourcing (NFR) is organized to optimally leverage Ahold Delhaize’s footprint in Europe and drive Ahold Delhaize’s save-4-our customer programs. Sourcing professionals in Europe work together in cross-border category teams to run European and local sourcing events.

The Development & Intelligence team (D&I) is a staff function within NFR sourcing that:

  • Shapes the NFR department to unlock full European potential by delivering on key strategic initiatives, such as implementing a European sourcing policy and developing and implementing self service tooling for Strategic Sourcing Managers (development scope);
  • Equips the sourcing community with actionable insights to drive savings delivery (intelligence scope).

The Operational Procurement (OP) team ensures sourcing professionals and Ahold Delhaize operating units can contract and order NFR goods and services seamlessly on a daily basis. Some of the responsibilities of the OP team include:

  • Delivering operational process excellence through efficient running processes.
  • Providing support with operational sourcing activities, while delivering savings to NFR’s customers and reducing unmanaged spend.
  • Guaranteeing high-quality vendor master data by owning and managing it.
  • Managing supplier risks through due diligence and performance management.

As Analytics Manager you report hierarchically to the Development & Intelligence Director, who provides knowledge and information to NFR’s stakeholders under the intelligence branch, and functionally to the Operational Procurement Director, who ensures operational activities are managed properly for NFR’s stakeholders making use of OP’s systems and processes.

The job consists of the following key responsibilities:

  1. Obtain and analyze internal procurement data (10% of your job), while ensuring NFR stakeholders have fast and easy access to the data:

  • Obtain and extract key procurement data (e.g. spend / contract / bid / compliance analytics report or equivalent) from NFR’s systems.
  • Interpret and analyze the above mentioned data.
  • Monitor system processes based on the extracted data.
  • Flag mistakes in data by reporting them to VMD in order to ensure consistency across data sets.

  1. Generate appropriate insights from data (60% of your job), by facilitating and reporting on data and by assuring reports contain correct information that is easy to interpret and understand (e.g. spend report):
  • Report on:
    • Spend - creating visual representations of spend data (per category, supplier, item, country, etc.) and reporting on unmanaged spend reduction;
    • Price-volume-mix variance - explaining the reasons behind spend increase/decrease and highlighting the top contributing  products for each category;
    • Contracting - identifying contracting cycle times and possible bottlenecks, reporting on spend under contract and compliance with contracted prices;
    • PO compliance - reporting on PO insights to monitor purchase price variance, compliance to ‘no contract-no PO’ and ‘no PO-no pay’ and the number of retrospective POs;
    • Purchasing policy compliance – detecting fraudulent or collusive transactions and the usage of wrong suppliers, while improving compliance with the NFR Source-to-Settle policy;
  • Communicate insights within the NFR department (e.g. publish a monthly report relevant to NFR stakeholders or create downloadable system reports).
  • Deliver an OP scorecard (a scorecard on all OP activities in all EU countries).
  • Become familiar with key analytics tools (e.g. Power BI) and come up with creative and visually-attractive ways to communicate insights.
  • Ensure data accuracy across the NFR department.
  • Proactively report on areas where further insights are needed.
  • Perform periodic reviews.
  • Estimate the business impact the data insights can have on business.

  1. Support, partner and collaborate with NFR stakeholders (30% of your job), while aiming for positive stakeholder feedback on support and benefits provided:
  • Help NFR’s Strategic Sourcing Managers obtain better insights into their categories.
  • Support key stakeholders (e.g. NFR Category Directors) with ad-hoc request asking to provide insights on specific topics.
  • Partner with key stakeholders (e.g. NFR Business Control) to facilitate the reporting of information.
