Based on the emerging requirements within our business, our disciplines and service-lines and within our business environment (vendors, legislators, customers, etc.) European Business Services recognize the need and opportunity to digitize our service offering (seamless digital user experience). At the same time we also see an opportunity to disclose and monetize value captured in our data in areas that are not yet disclosed by other departments and/or that is valuable to Business Services operations. The value captures in transactional data is potentially significant.

We create tech and data driven INSIGHTS, solutions and savings for you and your business allowing for focus on the customer and your brand’s growth and profitability.
This direction has been approved by EU board and urged to accelerate. Although several associates have started to find, disclose and analyze data using common tools such as Alteryx, PafNow and PowerBI, these activities are not their key responsibilities. This means that their key responsibilities (BaU) always will get priority; in other words: the data analytics always comes last. We want to accelerate by creation of this new role. Role will in future report to Digital Services EBS; for now into the EBS PMO.
The objective of the generic job is twofold: (a) to process data to create datasets that can be used by data analysts, visualization experts and business analysts to get better insights into our business transactions, purchases, orders, vendors, return, claims etc etc. (b) responsible for utilizing the organization's data governance processes to ensure fitness of data elements both the availability, content and metadata. Data availability and quality are the key performance indicators for this role.
The Specialist / Consultant data engineering & quality prepares the infrastructure, extracts and integrates data from various (internal) sources, knows systems and data definitions. He or she also writes/develops (complex) queries for data extraction and preparation. In addition, a data engineer handles, cleanses and transforms large amounts of data. He or she searches for new data sources and integration of data for future projects and analysis.
Scope of the job is EBS Finance, HR Services and NFR.

Day to day responsibilities include:
Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
Writing of complex queries for data extraction and preparation
Defining governance and or ensuring Data processes are governed and executed according to plan
Engage across the business to identify new data sources based on needs and requirements from BS stakeholders
Advise on data infrastructure improvements required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and ‘big data’ technologies.
Ensure usage compliance on data covered by GDPR and equivalent legislation
Assist and support IT as business data expert in automation/productionizing of data integration and processing for algorithms and dashboards. This may also include creating temporary fixes and continual iteration and improvement of queries to ensure a quality flow of source data (Removing the “noise” from queries and ensuring that results are clean and relevant)
Work with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
Work with data and analytics experts in the wider data community to strive for greater functionality in AD’s data systems
