As a Senior Data Analyst eCommerce at Ahold Delhaize, you will be part of our newly formed global Data Science & Analytics team. We work closely together with our data science and analytics teams from our brands and the regional US team. We seek mutual opportunities, work together on implementing state-of-the-art data solutions and help them taking data science and analytics to a higher level.
In short; you will gather insights using your strong data analytics skillset and with that, you’ll seek opportunities for our brands. Mining large datasets, you test whether applications, data insights or models work in other countries and collaborate with local teams to deploy them. You will join scrum teams as a global advanced data analyst to accelerate the development and productionizing of algorithms and make sure they are scalable and portable to other teams. You share your knowledge with our brands, acquire knowledge and experiences from them and set up tight collaborations. This way you will improve numerous processes and the experiences of millions of customers every single day.
Within this job your core focus will be on advanced analytics within eCommerce. Through your smart integrations, new models or innovative analyzes, you will improve the operating systems of our Brands. You will be using data analytics to work on topics as customer acquisition and retention and improving operational efficiency and delivery. How can we improve the end to end eCommerce chain with your strong data analytics insights? This includes the use of data science, experimental design, the development of models and algorithms to automate work and continuously optimize our way of working. The focus is always on impact on the customer and extreme efficiency and quality.

As Senior Data Analyst at Ahold Delhaize you will:
Get impactful insights through your own strong analysis from a brand (by example Albert Heijn, Peapod or Bol.com) and deploy them to our other brands over the world.
Experiment and iterate with data driven solutions and evaluate success. Only then we can continuously improve our data solutions and create impact within our brands.
Use your data analytics experience and knowledge to mature our teams.
Identify impactful areas based on strong data analyses.
Develop ideas for new algorithms or methods that make the operation / eCommerce more efficient.
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will work at and across Ahold Delhaize where approximately 370,000 employees worldwide serve over 50 million customers a week. Locally, you’ll be working with 1,500 colleagues in Zaandam, the Netherlands. We improve and innovate every day, supporting our trusted local brands and reinforcing our role as a leader in retail and e-commerce.
Everything you do with your colleagues is directly visible in our internal departments. You will be joining the newly formed Data Science & Analytics team. In this team we deliver scalable data products and building bridges between the different data science & analytics teams from our brands. Themes we are working on are loyalty, personalization, merchandising, eCommerce and self-service analytics.
Normally, we work from our bustling head office in Zaandam. However, due to the current situation, all employees are working from home. We hope to be able to return to Zaandam together soon.

At Ahold Delhaize, you'll be working for one of the world's biggest retailers, and we know you are bursting with the ambition to keep up with us. You supplement this ambition with:
A Master in Engineering, Data Science, Econometrics, Computer Science, Analytics or other relevant studies. If no relevant study, demonstrably relevant experience and interest.
At least 5 years of experience as Data Scientist or Advanced analyst.
A pragmatic mindset; you prefer getting things done above a perfect model or analysis.
Experience with data science in a business setting, preferably within eCommerce; you can build and test (small) models.
Advanced experience in Python or other programming language and SQL
Experience in leading a project or team and work together with various stakeholders.
You are based in The Netherlands.
