We are seeking a talented Staff Engineer skilled in Kafka and integrations to contribute their expertise in creating cohesive integrations both within our platform and connecting across other departments, ensuring seamless workflows and an unparalleled experience for engineering teams.

 

As a Staff Engineer at Albert Heijn, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing integrations across our diverse range of products and services. You will collaborate across departments, providing technical leadership to ensure the successful integration of systems,
applications, and data sources.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Integration Architecture: Design and architect end-to-end integration solutions that align with business goals and technical requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and product teams to understand integration needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement effective solutions.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. 
  • Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes and conduct thorough testing of integration solutions to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for integration processes, configurations, and best practices to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure maintainability.
  • Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, collaborating with relevant teams to implement corrective measures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date of industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance integration processes.

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing complex integration solutions.
  • Experience with Kafka as a messaging and event streaming platform, including the ability to design and implement solutions using Kafka for real-time data integration.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and the design and implementation of microservices-based systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, with expertise in languages such as Python, Java, and Kotlin.
  • In-depth knowledge of API design, RESTful services, and data serialization formats (JSON, XML) within the context of engineering workflows.
  • Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git), continuous integration, and continuous deployment practices.
  • Hands-on experience with integration platforms, middleware technologies, and tools specific to Engineering Enablement.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
